The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is a standardised English exam to be taken by people who do not have English as their native language. This exam is conducted to test English language proficiency. It is  one of the most taken language tests in the world.

Managed jointly by the British Council, IDP Cambridge Assessment English and IELTS Australia. Many countries ask for an IELTS score before they grant visa. This is done to ensure an easy life for people who are migrating.

An IELTS Test Report Form is accepted by many Australian, Canada, UK and New Zealand based Universities. Nearly 3,000 US Universities accept the test report as well. It is estimated that every year nearly 3 million applicants from 150 different countries take the test to admit themselves in higher educational courses, for jobs and for the purpose of Permanent Residency.
